We have a full continuum of quality accommodations and services, including living independent, assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing, long-term care and rapid recovery.

WHAT STYLES OF HOUSING ARE AVAILABLE?

We offer a variety of floor plans to suite a variety of resident preferences, including studio, 1- or 2-bedroom and deluxe apartments. All apartments are connected and within easy walking distance of our Wellness Center and pool, theater, auditorium, library and other centrally located amenities.

HOW OLD IS KMH?

Founded in 1896 as a home to serve orphans, widows and elders, KMH has more than 120 years of experience caring for the Wichita community. In addition, KMH is one of the most recognized and established senior living communities in Kansas.

DO I HAVE TO BE A MASON OR EASTERN STAR TO BE A RESIDENT AT KMH?

No, we became open to the public in 1974.

HOW DOES KMH PROVIDE BREAKTHROUGH MEMORY SUPPORT?

Ask us about Behavior-Based Ergonomic Therapy (BBET) through non-pharmacologic therapies for those facing the challenges of memory loss. Our residents receive individually tailored care while maintaining familiar schedules and safe surroundings. Staff members take the time to learn the history of each resident, resulting in nurturing relationships that go beyond providing everyday care.

WHAT DOES IT COST TO LIVE AT KMH?

Monthly fees depend on the area, type and style of residence you choose. Many residents find it cost effective to live in a KMH apartment, where utilities, meals, housekeeping, home repair, maintenance, insurance and other costs are factored into the cost of living.

I HAVE LONG-TERM CARE INSURANCE. CAN I UTILIZE IT WHILE LIVING AT KMH?

Many long-term care insurance policies work well in conjunction with our community.

Requirements

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR RESIDENCY AT KMH?

Financial and physical qualifications must be evaluated and met before you can become a resident.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH LEVEL OF CARE IS APPROPRIATE?

Prior to moving in, a wellness evaluation will be completed to determine which level of care will best meet the needs and desires of the individual.

CAN I HAVE A PET?

Pets weighing less than 30 pounds are welcome with a pet deposit fee. Pet owners must also present KMH with a form from your vet stating that the pet is not aggressive, is current in all its shots and has flea prevention. An annual vaccination record is required each year.

WHAT HEALTHCARE SERVICES ARE OFFERED?

We offer a full range of long-term and short-term healthcare services in our healthcare households and assisted living communities. We also work with a number of agencies that can provide home health and hospice services.

WHAT SHORT-TERM REHABILITATION SERVICES ARE OFFERED?

The healthcare household offers 20 newly remodeled Rapid Recovery Suites for short-term rehabilitation needs. These suites are fully furnished with new homelike furniture and décor as well as flat-screen televisions and phone service. Complete with an indoor pool, fully equipped gym and newly renovated therapy treatment center, our top-notch therapy team is eager to provide the attention and care necessary to return individuals to healthy daily living.

IF I NEED TO GO TO THE HEALTHCARE HOUSEHOLD FOR A PERIOD OF TIME, DO I HAVE TO MOVE OUT OF MY APARTMENT?

No. This is one of the benefits of living at a continuing care retirement community. Our residents often move to a higher level of care for short-term rehabilitation and then return to their prior residence.
