Job Description

Seeking a licensed adult care home administrator for our 109 bed LTC/SNF.

KMH has five unique households for our LTC/SNF residents. We are looking for an individual to partner with the director of nursing to provide each resident with excellent service and care.

Must be a Licensed Adult Care Home Administrator. Prefer some clinical experience in LTC/SNF (CNA, CMA, or Nurse).

Responsibilities

  • Keeps abreast of external trends in health care and senior housing.
  • Participates in professional organizations.
  • Prepares timely information about key issues and indicators affecting the organization in summary format for the CEO.

Provides leadership by planning, developing, and organizing systems and training in all areas. Directors the activities of the healthcare and assisted living leadership teams.

  • Develops, maintains and implements written operational policies and procedures in conjunction with the department managers.
  • Participates in all resident council, town hall and resident committees.
  • Promotes a friendly rapport among all departments.
  • Leads, and participates in celebrations, activities and events for staff and residents.
  • Implements organizational policies as directed by CEO.
  • Communicates organization policies and procedures to employees, residents, family members, visitors and government agencies as necessary.
  • Promotes a resident-centered atmosphere throughout the organization.
  • Reports operational concerns and makes recommendations to the CEO.
  • Establishes constructive relationships with families and residents.
  • Ensures that public information regarding the organization is accurate.
  • Represents the organization professionally in dealings with external agencies.
  • Ensures the quality and appropriateness of care and service delivery.

Operates the organization within budgetary constraints.

  • Monitors monthly budget variances in conjunction with finance department and area department directors.
  • Devises actions that respond to budget variances.
  • Provides assistance the to finance department required to submit financial reports to authorized government agencies.
  • Obtains appropriate CEO approval for budget variances.

Manages key functions and services. 

  • Assists in planning and conducting training programs to ensure that staff is current and competent in practices and services provided to residents.
  • Meets with directors and department managers regularly to review progress related to the operating, business or strategic plan.
  • Establishes constructive relationships with regulators, legislators and others who influence the operations of the organization.
  • Establishes an effective team-building environment; seeks input from direct care staff; seeks methods to empower direct care staff.

Is subject to on-call hours in the event of emergencies.  Works beyond normal working hours on weekends and holidays and in other positions temporarily as needed.

Community and Resident-Centered Life: 

  • Participates in community life as it pertains to culture-change efforts.
  • Encourages staff to spend time providing genuine home to residents, working to put relationships before tasks.
  • Works to actively prioritize resident-centered efforts in all aspects of responsibilities.

Qualifications

Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with board of directors, staff members, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and personnel, and the general public. Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and nonprofessional staff. Must have patience, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as a willingness to deal with difficult residents, staff, and visitors. Must be able to maintain good staff relations and employee morale.

Must have a working knowledge of reimbursement systems, regulations, nursing practices and procedures, as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care and senior housing.

Must be able to read and interpret financial records and reports. Must possess the ability to plan, develop, and implement the programs necessary for providing quality care and maintaining a sound operation. Must possess the ability to seek out new methods based on industry changes and implement these into existing practices.

Must be a Licensed Adult Care Home Administrator. Prefer some clinical experience in LTC/SNF (CNA, CMA, or Nurse).
